Project Shakti – EUPP (End ultra–poverty Program) is an ongoing livelihood project of the Obhizatrik Foundation to help eradicate poverty from the ultra poor households in our society. The second part of the pilot phase of this livelihood project handover took place in Savar, Dhaka on 14th January, 2024. 5 cows were given to 5 local women in collaboration with ZXY International and 7 STREAMS.
The main focus this time was empowering women from ultra poor households by providing a stable means of income. The women who got the cows, they already had the experience of cow-rearing. These women were selected through examining their socio-economic circumstances. This new livelihood program’s pilot phase will take place in Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar, having a total of 33 beneficiaries.
More projects like this will be given to other beneficiaries depending on their skills and preferences so that they can properly utilize it and earn enough to provide for their families. Previously, In the first part of the pilot phase of Shakti, 5 auto rickshaws were given to 5 beneficiaries in Savar, Dhaka considering their area and skills.
Through the project Shakti, Obhizatrik foundation is looking forward to building a better future for these ultra poor families and creating a long lasting positive impact in our society.
