🌊 Gender-Transformative Water Governance
Women leading the tide.
In the climate-vulnerable coastal char of Char Lata, OBHIZATRIK Foundation — supported by IUCN — is equipping women with the skills, confidence, and leadership to shape water governance in their own communities.

Resilience, led by women.
Under the project “Women Leading the Tide: Gender-Transformative Water Governance in Char Lata,” supported by IUCN, OBHIZATRIK Foundation works to strengthen the capacity, confidence, and leadership of women in water governance.
In one of Bangladesh’s most climate-vulnerable coastal chars, the project puts women at the centre of decisions about the water and resources their families depend on — building both financial resilience and the confidence to lead.
Four trainings, twenty-four days.
Across four hands-on trainings spanning 24 days, women in Char Lata built capacity in two core areas — financial resilience and the confidence to lead.
Financial Literacy
Interactive sessions on managing income, savings, microloans, and financial planning — including preparing financially for natural disasters. Building everyday financial resilience for families in a climate-vulnerable, disaster-prone area.
Leadership & Negotiation
Focused sessions on leadership and negotiation skills — encouraging women to step into leadership roles and actively participate in the decisions that shape their communities and their shared water resources.
